PASTA WITH TOMATO SAUCE

INGREDIENTS
Sauce
- 1 onion
- 1-2 cloves of garlic, to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 500 g canned, chopped or sieved tomatoes (passata)
- 1 tbsp tomato paste
- Salt, pepper
- Sugar
- 1 tbsp Italian herb mix
Pasta
- 500 g pasta, type as desired
- Salt
Also
- 30 g Parmesan cheese
- 4 basil tips
HOW TO MAKE IT
- For the sauce, peel and finely dice the onion and garlic.
- Heat the oil in a pot and sauté the onion cubes in it. Add the garlic and sauté briefly. Stir in the tomato paste and sauté. Add the tomatoes and season with salt, pepper, a pinch of sugar and herbs. Bring to the boil and simmer, covered, over a medium heat for about 15 minutes or until the desired consistency is reached. Season again to taste before serving.
- Cook the pasta in salted water according to the package instructions until al dente and drain.
- Serve the pasta with the tomato sauce. Grate the parmesan freshly over the top using the ZWILLING Z-Cut Mini Grater and serve decorated with a basil tip.
Tip
The chopped or sieved tomatoes can also be replaced with fresh, diced tomatoes.
