- 500 g wheat flour
TOMATO SAUCE
- 350 g tomatoes
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 tbsp. olive oil
- 1 sprig oregano (alternatively 1 tsp. dried oregano)
- 1 sprigs of basil
- ½ tsp. sugar
- Salt, pepper
ALSO
- Wheat flour for kneading
- Topping for pizzas (cheese, sausage, mushrooms, vegetables, rocket, tuna, etc.)
Preparation
To make the pizza dough, dissolve the yeast, salt and sugar in lukewarm water. Put the flour in the mixing bowl of a food processor. Add the yeast mixture and oil and knead to a smooth dough for about 10 minutes. Cover with a cloth and leave the dough to rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until the volume has increased significantly.
Wash the tomatoes, remove the stalk and dice. Peel the onion and garlic and finely dice both. Heat the oil in a pot. Sweat the onion and garlic in it. Add the tomatoes and cook on a low heat for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Wash the herbs, shake dry, pluck the leaves and chop coarsely. Add together with salt, pepper and sugar and season to taste. Puree to taste and allow to cool.
Knead the pizza dough on a lightly floured work surface and cut into thirds. Roll the dough portions into a circle and put them on pizza trays or baking trays. Brush with the tomato sauce and cover with different toppings as desired.
Bake the pizzas one after the other in the preheated oven at 200 °C fan for approx. 12-15 minutes.
Remove and enjoy immediately.
