Some improvements could be made
This is a beautiful knife set with great feel and balance. I was a little disappointed when it arrived and the stainless steel block had a few blemishes. Then, when I put the knives in their respective spots the serrated utility knife has a lot of wiggle room in its slot causing it to look like it’s drooping down while the prep knife seats so snugly that it causes it to raise up the handle. The overall aesthetic effect is that these two knives are the only two not aligned in the block which is not visually pleasing to me. I know this is picky, but these are J.A. Henckles and I expected perfection in every aspect.
That being said, they are great to use.

Chinese Henckels
These are not German made knives. Know that upfront. They do feel good in your hand and the blades are not too thin. The handles are just painted that color and not actually a different material. I have two knives that came out of the box with multiple chips in this paint. Makes me wonder what they will be like in 12 months. The knife block is big, really big. I had to put it in the corner of the counter, so not to look odd. Serrated utility knife slot has no sharper, so it drops down lower than the knife next to it with a sharpener. Just looks funny. The block also had deficiencies. Added pics to show paint and block issues.

Exceptional Value
I wanted a set that didn't look dated or cheap. I found that and much more in this set. The 20-pc set is an exceptional value for the amount of items included. The knives are well made. They are balanced, strong, and very sharp. The self-sharpening block is perhaps the secret weapon to this set. It helps to prolong the life of each knife. The icing on the proverbial cake is the fact that the block is labeled to ensure that each knife is stored and subsequently sharpened according to their individual specifications. I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. I look forward to exploring more of the Zwilling family of products.

Expected more...
Set arrived quickly and without damage to the box. After opening, I started to put the knives in there respective slots. I noticed one was blocked. It was a chunk of wood that split from when they screwed on the faceplate to the block. Overall not a huge deal (I fixed it myself) but I expected better quality control for not only the price I paid but the company who makes these knives. Attached are some pictures to portray what my issue was. After fixing the block, I had no issues. The knives themselves are sharp and durable. When used appropriately they should last for many years. I do appreciate the self sharpening aspect to this set. Overall I would recommend this product, perhaps I just received the one off dud.

Meh, not impressed
We've had our set for over 6 months now. Soon after we received them, we put them in use, and they were pretty good. However, I've come to realize that they rust, regardless of how careful you are to hand wash and dry. For this much money, I would expect them not to rust or stain. Additionally, they promise an additional smaller knife set if you write a review, and that turned out to be a lie... They said allow up to 8 weeks to receive the set, and we're now going on about 28 weeks. After following up with them several times, I just gave up. They just kept telling me "they're on backorder". Anyways, I won't purchase this brand again.

All things good in this package.
With its very modern sleek design, this line of all metal knives is excellent. The quality of the steel, the workmanship of the fully forged blades with integrated bolster makes the knives comfortable and easy to work with whether you’re cooking for one or prepping for a banquet. These knives are well worth the money. Comfortable handle with a little heft to it for good tactile feel.
This comprehensive set includes all the most used shapes and sizes. There's not much you can't do with this set of knives, including being able to maintain them. The self-sharpening block keeps the edges sharp and ready when you are. These knives will keep their edge. Dishwasher safe but hand wash to keep them looking brand new.

Best Self Sharpening Knife Block
We originally bought the Ninja self sharpening knife block, but returned it due the block being plastic and feeling cheaply made. I came across this knife block set and decided to give it a try. I am glad I did. The block base is wood and feels how a high quality knife block should. I love the self sharpening feature and I have never had to manually sharpen any of the knives as I have with past self sharpening knife blocks. The knives themselves have a beautiful graphite finish, and very well balanced and weighted. The German steel makes the blades super durable as well. Buying this knife block set will ensure you never have to buy another.

Best knives I've ever owned!!
This knife set is fantastic!! You can tell that they are very well made with quality materials and they work wonderfully for all your prep needs. The block itself is beautiful with it's rich, dark wood contrasted against the metal of the knives, and the self-sharpening feature definitely works wonders on keeping them sharp after months of use (I've had my set for a little over 6 months now).
On this particular 20-piece set I should note that the block itself is BIG, so make sure you have room for it on your countertop!
I've never owned high-quality knives, but now that I have I can't imagine ever cooking without them! Well worth the investment.

Are these Forged or Stamped? And were these gone through the cyro hardening process?
The description says they are forged but I'm unsure of thy cyro hardening as I am just a consumer answering this question

My wife bought this set . I would like to know what degree of angle are these blades sharpened to? Asian 15 degree or English 21 degree? I sharpen my own knifes.
Edge angle 15 degrees per side
Except the 7” Santoku which is an Asian blade 10 degrees per side
