The Silvercap 7-inch fine edge santoku is a Japanese-style knife ideal for slicing meat, fish, and vegetables. This knife is designed for the classic ‘push cut’ technique in which the knife is held stable and pushed down onto the cutting board.

HENCKELS Silvercap knives feature a micro-serrated edge, so the blades never need to be sharpened. Fabricated from durable, high-quality stainless steel, Silvercap’s single-piece, stamped blade construction is lighter than forged knives. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Micro-serrated knife blade! A go-to knife for everyday tasks indoor and outdoor, it's the kitchen workhorse and less maintenance. It's micro-serrated edge blade never needed to sharpen. This Santoku knife is excellent for cutting, slicing, chopping and peeling food such as meat, vegetables, fruits, poultry, and herbs. It's micro-serrated edge blade is excellent for cutting vegetables such as tomatoes, crusty bread, napa cabbage, celery, peppers, scallions name it. This knife offers a single-piece, precision-stamped, high-quality stainless steel blade that offers long-lasting durability and sharpness. This is perfect for young cook exploring cooking. Made well, price well kind of knife!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from You get what you pay for I received several of the Silvercap knives as a gift. I strongly dislike the serrated, never-need-to-sharpen edge. It struggles to cut through squash, tomatoes, and mushrooms cleanly. The top edge is also surprisingly sharp. I usually rest a finger on the top of the blade for better control, but have had to readjust my cutting style after getting numerous cuts along my finger.

The unique molded handle is non slip and continues up the bolster for a comfortable pinch grip and to protect your fingers from the blade. The silver cap gives the knife a nice weight and balance. Stamped from a single piece of high quality stainless steel you don't need to worry about corrosion. The Santoku is an excellent knife for chopping and the hollow air pockets on the edge help prevent food from sticking to the blade as you slice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 7-inch santoku knives are extremely popular. They are exceptional for all the tasks necessary for preparing a meal. Excellent for cleaning and chopping meats, fish and poultry. But where this knife really shines is with vegetables and fruits. It is wide and long enough to slice through eggplants, squashes, large summer tomatoes, big sweet onions. The Granton grooves are designed to create an air gap so wet, sticky vegs - like cucumber and potato - fall away easier. Silvercap knives are micro-serrated. They will stay sharp for years to come. No extra maintenance necessary. These knives are stamped from high quality German steel; a stainless steel that won’t stain, and doesn’t require special care. Just use, wash, dry and repeat. The full tang construction, meaning that there is a single piece of steel from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle, is stable and durable. These are good quality knives at an affordable price.

Blade has mirco serrations so I never have to worry about sharpening it, it is always ready to go. The blade also has hollow edges to help move food away from chopping area so jobs get done quicker and more efficiently.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from good value A good price on a value santoku knife. The micro serration cannot be sharpened, but then again never needs sharpening. The handle is comfortable. Good knife for a second home or college kid, but if you really enjoy cooking, I suggest investing in a better knife with a fine edge. Henckels makes some great forged knives.

Nice one piece construction which makes it much more durable than some of thre other knives I've used in the past. Also dish washer safe which is a definite plus!

Good knife for mincing, dicing and slicing with hollow grounds to help prevent food items from sticking to blade. Secure molded handle and lightweight.
