Rust - after two months!
I purchased this item last December. However, one of the knives is now developing rust near the blade's edge. I understand that stainless steel does rust at some point when the chromium oxide gets removed but for the rust to develop this early in knives in regular household use seems irregular. I mean it has been barely two months!
I have attached pictures of the product. All the other knives are fine but, I suspect, not for long.
This is not our first Henckels product. When one of the knives in a set develops an issue - chips, bent, etc. - she replaces the entire set. The rust developing less than two months after purchase is a first for us. And we have had 4 sets in the last 27 years.
I hope you can help.

Ever since I was a teenager I have wanted a Henckels knife set ! I finally bought this one because it’s such a great price ! The knives are good weight and are very sharp and makes precise cuts. I really like the look and the assortment of knives and knife as well as the overall design of the knives. My only criticism is that (to me) the shear handles are not as nice as the rest of the set, but they still feel nice. That being said, I’m looking forward to getting plenty of use from my new knife set !

quality complete set
I am very happy with this set. The stainless steel blades are super sharp and very easy to maintain. The handles are very comfortable to hold. This set takes care of all my cutting needs. The paring knife is perfect for peeling and shaping in hand. The small serrated knife and bread knife are amazing for breads, tomatoes, citrus and anything else with a tougher exterior and soft inside. The santoku is perfect for my vegetable prep with its slim profile. I use the utility knife for slicing my cooked meats and the chef's knife handles all the large jobs. The scissors are sharp and comfortable. I love that it also comes with enough steak knives for entertaining so I can have a nice matching set on the table.

Great set of knives. Very sharp.
I love these knives. Very elegant looking with a darker block. These knives are extremely sharp with a comfortable grip handle. They are well balanced so cutting chicken, steak, and vegetables is effortless. My tomatoes can be cut paper thin or thick with no problem. I would highly recommend these knives. They would make an excellent gift that would be very appreciated. NEVER PUT IN DISHWASHER! Hand wash, dry and put in block. These are full tang knives. The only con is picture #6.

Solid design with minor wear issues
This product is very sleek and looks great with the stained wood. It displays the knives easily and easy to pull out. All the knives are sharp and hold their sharpness well. Even though it stays sharp long, there is a knife sharpener that comes with the product. I do warn about using the knife sharpener incorrectly (I bought a much easier one externally). The single qualm I have is related to the handles. They are very pretty and feel good in your hand, however, I have experienced that those wear over time especially if you plan to use dishwashers. I didn't see many issues till 3-4 years in, but that can give you an idea of when you may need to replace the knives. The metal itself, was still in great shape that many years in.

Very sharp, but...
I bought this set thinking Henckels was the very best. No doubt, they are extremely sharp. But for two reasons, I am disappointed in this particular set. Because the blades are serrated, they tend to slice towards the side, not straight down. Another problem I’ve found is that the tips on some, especially the steak knives is that the tips bend pretty easily. I am disappointed with this set and wouldn’t buy these again.

Better than ever
We received a Henckel knife block set for our wedding 26 years ago and it’s still going fine. Our daughter is getting an apartment at college next year and we saw this larger set on sale. We never had a place to store sharp knives for dinner. This block is our old block plus it nicely stores 6 sharp dinner knives in the block. So we upgraded ourselves and will pass the old block set on for many more years of service. We do hand wash the other knives and they are like new still. We use multiple knives multiple times per day as we prepare food.

My 2nd set
Love the darker wood tone block! This is my 2nd set of Henckels knives. The first set we got for our wedding 26 years ago and hubby thought it was time for an upgrade. I LOVE the fact that this comes with steak knives as our other set of steak knives I didn’t have a way to store them. Henckles=Quality there is a reason they are known to be the best in the business. Can’t wait to use these !!!! They cut smoothly and look so classy on my countertop. And the fact that the block is a darker tone to closely match my island base is a bonus!
