Description

The 9-inch bread knife offers an improved, more controlled cutting experience for heavy duty slicing jobs. Slice through thicker cuts with ease including turkey, ham, and roast meats. Effortlessly cut through soft-interior, hard-exterior foods, like tomatoes and crusty loaves of bread.

MIYABI celebrates Japanese craftsmanship with Artisan. Using traditional methods and innovative techniques, these knives merge the past and present into an exceptional knife collection.

The potent core of SG2 micro-carbide powder steel is layered in a stunning Tsuchime finish. This exquisite, hand-hammered effect helps prevent food from sticking. The CRYODUR® blades feature exceptional sharpness and durability thanks to their innovative, ice-hardening treatment. Each knife features a hand-honed blade finished with a true katana edge, a homage to the samurai swords made in Seki centuries ago.

Crafted with special Cocobolo Rosewood Pakkawood, the handles mirror the beauty of the blade. Sophisticated details include brass and red spacers, a mosaic pin and a stainless-steel end cap. The attractive D-shaped handle is designed to nestle comfortably in your hand for tireless cutting.

Miyabi Artisan 9-inch Bread Knife is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from gorgeous bread knife I purchased a Miyabi Artisan chefs knife a while back and wanted to add the serrated knife. I love my chefs knife for most things but wanted the serrated one for more specific jobs. Of course I use it for bread but it has so many other uses. Its great for tomatoes, melons, citrus or anything with a harder/thicker exterior and a soft interior. It also works great for peeling butternut squash. The pakka wood handle is very comfortable especially with the belly added to the D shaped design. The blade is gorgeous with the hammered and sand blasted design. The forged steel is very hard and sharp and stays that way for a long time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A fantastic Japanese bread knife This knife is awesome. I love the look of this knife and how it has certain features that make it a true Japanese knife, like the mirrored finish aspect to the blade and the shape of the handle. I like that it’s a Cocobolo wood, really beautiful look that accents the blade perfectly. This knife slices through anything with ease and smoothness, clean slices every time whether it’s bread or fruit. It has a nice balance to it as well, and the D-shape handle contours nicely in your hand. The steel is really solid for a Japanese knife, so I’m not worried about it chipping down the road.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You can almost see the craftsmen working on these knives. The hammered steel and the shaped Cocobolo Pakkawood handle are carefully made and assembled by real people in Seki, Japan one of a handful cities in the world renown for their knife making skills. This bread knife has all that quality and tradition built into in. AND, it slices the tenderest crumb or the crustiest crust so smoothly. The sharp scalloped serrated edge grips and slices right through without tearing. What more can you ask of a bread knife?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth it I love the Miyabi Artisan line. Didn’t realize how stressful chopping and slicing was before I upgraded to this line. I have recently started baking bread, and decided to upgrade my bread knife. I was hesitant to spend the money on a bread slicer but am so glad I did. It slices through so smoothly without tearing the bread. And it cuts all the way through the crust easily, which was a problem with my previous bread knife. If you can afford the splurge I highly recommend this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This bread knife will get through anything that has a hard exterior and soft interior. Yes, perfect for bread but excellent fog getting through a big melon or cabbage. The knife core is made from SG2 steel and surrounded by layers of nickel and stainless steel for additional protection. The handle is ever so comfortable with its D-shaped Cocobolo pakkawood handle. The hammered “Tsuchime” finish helps move food away from the blade while chopping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful bread knife This is a great bread knife! It not only slices through a crusty loaf of fresh bread without smashing or tearing, but it is incredibly beautiful. The hammered finish is so unique and the wooden handle with its simple curve fits perfectly in the palm of your hand. It is made from a very hard steel so it will stay sharp longer and is very durable. It slices so cleanly that it could also be used to carve meat or slice through a large watermelon.
