The traditional gratin dish has been a part of a French centuries not out of nostalgia, but by design. The ratio of surface area to interior space is optimal. This rich Basil green color highlights food so well, too. The finest quality of enameled cast iron available, IMHO. Easy to clean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for potatoes au gratin! This baking dish has Staub's famous black matte finish on the inside of the pan which allows for better browning, braising, and roasting. The heat capability is amazing and it will stay hot all the way through a dinner. Works on / in all kinds of cooking surfaces including gas, electric, and induction, and oven safe up to 500F. We love the crusting on the edge that develops on all the vegetable dishes we make.
