Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new cornbread pan Cast iron is so awesome for baking because it heats thoroughly, evenly and holds the temperature so well. I love making cornbread just like my grandma, but didn't enjoy the hassle or cast iron care. Staub is enameled on the inside and out; no seasoning required, just soap and water. I can preheat my pan on the stovetop, pour in my batter and take it straight to the oven. I get a nice crispy crust just like I always remembered. This is also perfect for a casserole for 1 or 2; brownies are delicious and don't forget how great potatoes taste when they get a crispy crust.

Use several for each person to have their own or side dish with all the yummyness of the crispy edges! Looks like traditional cast iron but is coated in Staub's matte black coating that doesn't require seasoning and cleans up easily!

They love to make casseroles and desserts and love how well the enameled cast iron cooks everything so evenly. They love the black matte color and how it still looks like a traditional cast iron piece but better. They love how versatile the piece is and how it can go in the oven to fridge to dishwasher, a super convenient piece to have in a kitchen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from perfect side kick This cast iron baking dish is perfect for individual portions of baked side dishes and desserts. The cast iron heats very evenly and gives great browning. The enamel coating means no seasoning and the matte texture gives great browning. Once out of the oven it stays hot at the table so it works great when cooking for a crowd. These always make an appearance at my holiday table.

The cast iron retains heat or cold, so if you are serving warm dishes, they will stay that way and if you are serving cold dishes, just put in the fridge or freezer, and they will remain cold. The best little baker!

Our absolute favorite is to use for brownies, the crust / edge comes out perfectly. Cast iron enamel is an amazing heat conductor. Bakers can be used on any cooking surface (there is a smooth enamel bottom) as well as the oven up to 500F.

The enameled cast iron interior produces wonderful results for any number of dishes; roasted chicken quarters, seared beef, roasted vegetables, gratins, pasta dishes, and desserts.

The cast iron really conducts heat and is a great pan to roast vegetables, make casseroles, strata, bread puddings and brownies. Anything that calls for a nice crusty bottom is really perfect for these pans. Oven to table, and freezer safe.
