Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roast turkey during the holidays, or anytime of year really, comes out perfectly in this roasting pan. It conducts and distributes heat evenly so that you can relax and let the pan and oven do the roasting! When it is done you can make your gravy directly in the pan without waiting for the pan to heat up, saving you time in those time-crunch moments before the meal is on the table. This size is good for dressing cooked outside of the bird as well! So many uses year-round.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new cornbread pan Cast iron is so awesome for baking because it heats thoroughly, evenly and holds the temperature so well. I love making cornbread just like my grandma, but didn't enjoy the hassle or cast iron care. Staub is enameled on the inside and out; no seasoning required, just soap and water. I can preheat my pan on the stovetop, pour in my batter and take it straight to the oven. I get a nice crispy crust just like I always remembered. This is also perfect for a casserole for 1 or 2; brownies are delicious and don't forget how great potatoes taste when they get a crispy crust.

I use this pan when I am making a big lasagna for parties because I love how it is cast iron, so that cheese gets crusty and the lasagna will stay hot even when it has been out of the oven for a long time because the cast iron retains the heat. The handles are nice and big, so I can get a good grip on them when I am taking it out of the oven. I also like how it is enameled so that I don't have to do any special maintenance, like normal cast iron.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing roasts This is an amazing pan. All the benefits of raw cast iron without the fuss. The enamel coating means no seasoning and easy cleanup. The matte texture allows for great browning and crispness. The Iron has amazing heat retention and heats very evenly......no hotspots.It can go straight into the oven or start on the stovetop to get a great quick sear first. Its great for roasted veggies, potatoes and meats. I love everything about this pan.

Use several for each person to have their own or side dish with all the yummyness of the crispy edges! Looks like traditional cast iron but is coated in Staub's matte black coating that doesn't require seasoning and cleans up easily!

I love this size for a chicken and adding the vegetables to the pan with the chicken to roast in all the yummy juices from the chicken. I do a roast chicken weekly and they come out moist and golden brown every time! The vegetables are seasoned and roast along with the chicken and come out beautifully. It is nice to have cookware that makes you look like a culinary star!!

The headline reads "15x10" but the description dimensions read "18.5 x 10.4" What is the measurement of this larger pan? Same discrepancy is happening with the smaller 12x8 size.

The 15" x 10" figure is for the interior/cooking surface only. 18.5" x 10.4" x 3.2" are the overall/exterior dimensions for this item. The same applies for the smaller roasting pan.

Is it safe to preheat this pan in the oven, prior to adding vegetables or other food and roasting? I know with some of the enameled cast iron products out there, they say that preheating them dry is not recommended.
