Why does this grill retail for 6800 Euros but nearly doubles to come to the american market?

There are a couple of size differences between the models in Europe and the models in the US. There was significant tooling required to meet North American certification because of the significant differences in gas pressures between to two continents. We are also subject to shipping and tariffs. We will shortly have both propane and natural gas variations available as well, which was part of the retail considerations.

What is the square inches of the grilling surface? Are there only three burners/controls?

The grilling surface is 35.00 inch x 17.50 inch. There are three heat sources each controlled by a knob. There is a sear zone on the left that gets up to 1650 degrees fahrenheit. The are also two infrared ceramic burners in the main grilling area. One in the front of the grill and one in the back.
