Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wow Got these for my wife! And I got an 8inch chef for my chef buddy! They both were blown away by the quality and feel of these knives. My buddy uses his 50 hours a weeks and is amazed at how the edge keeps it’s edge. I think the guy who gave them 2 stars is being rediculous. It was a shopping problem, not anything to do with the quality, or workmanship of this product! I have two very happy people with their quality and workmanship and one does this for a living. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another Kramer Favorite What's the difference between a lesser quality paring knife and one like this?....Everything! This knife is crafted from SG2 steel which, while it's not gold, it is the "gold standard" of steel. Aside from the beautiful 100 layer damascus design the handle is also a work of art that fits perfectly and comfortably into your palm. The Micarta handle has a wood grain appearance with none of the downfalls of wood such as swelling or cracking. Treat yourself you'll enjoy this useful knife every day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kramer - Beauty and Function The ultimate in paring knives! It is that great thick three rivet handle that fits perfectly in the palm of your hand and will have the durability to last a lifetime. It's made of micarta which is a linen and resin mixture that has the durability of a synthetic material but the look and feel of wood. It's made from a super hard, SG2 steel core that will give you incredible sharpness that will last. Plus it's surrounded by a beautiful 100 layer damascus design.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disapointed I just recieved my knife and was shocked......Chip on blade and the handle had a small chunk missing right next to the pin forming a gap. I returned the knife for a replace from the supplier....I am hoping the second one is not like this. The 8" chief was fine. I gave it Fair because the 8" chief I got was fine. But how could it have gotten through inspection?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This knife is one of the knives I use the most, besides the chef and santoku. I use it for prepping vegetables and for fruits. I bake quite a bit so seem to always have a parer in my hand or within close reach. This one is sharp and has retained it sharpness, and having a more acute angle, it slices and peels like a dream.

Can you sharpen with ceramic rod? Also what grit whetstone s to use for that technique?

Asked by: Parth
Yes, this item can be honed with a Kramer-branded ceramic rod. We have several different rods and stones to choose from here: https://www.zwillingonline.com/bob-kramer-euroline-stainless-steel-damascus.html The grit of the stone you choose should depend on how much the knife needs sharpening. Lower grits are coarser and will sharpen more aggressively, while higher grits will lightly sharpen, polish and refine the edge.
