Rated 5 out of 5 by aaron53875 from Perfect silverware for a new house! We looked at a bunch of silverware sets before deciding on the Zwilling Opus set. It was actually amazing how hard it was to find the "one set" that could work equally as well for formal/not formal, had butter knives with decent sharpness, a design that was functional and not odd looking, all at a reasonable price. In a sea of choices, this seemed like one of the few good ones -- and we're glad we took the plung, because so far we love them! And as a bonus, if like us, you're going from odds and ends collected over the years to a matching set, this one includes matching serving set too.

The weight of the pieces makes them feel like high quality items and they do not bend and have held up nicely through many washes so far. Like another review I read here, I did receive one spoon with a significant scratch on it but did not want to return the whole set over that one piece. Perhaps I'll try and send it in for a replacement or I wouldn't be surprised if someone from customer service testing this will reach out to me about what to do to get a replacement sent to me (because I have found their customer service to be very responsive and helpful). Overall, good set, good price, good quality. Highly recommend.

I was surprised and happy to find this set still being made. Our original set looks as good as the day I bought them. Happy to get more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by the other Trey from Beautiful and functional The design is useful (not like some post-modern work of art that was meant to be framed and displayed, rather than to get food to my mouth). The eating experience with these is normal and effortless, not weird and regretful (like with other wheel-reinventions I've seen appearing in recent years). The build is sturdy and feels substantial and properly weight-balanced in the hand. The polish is perfect and feels just right in the mouth. The pieces look appropriately simple, uncomplicated, but not antiquated - not a fart-in-the-wind fad that will be unstylish next year. The pieces are pretty timeless, and they are beautiful. I'll probably use them forever.

The open set is very elegant well-being, simple enough to go with almost any plate settings and glassware. I see a lot of you are stating they are heavy in the hand however, I feel they are on the medium/light end for the robustness of the handle. I find them to be well balanced as well as very functional and therefore never seem to think about them while using. And I believe not thinking about your flatware is a good thing, as I never really think about flatware unless it’s not doing it’s job well.

I was nervous at first due to the price but after receiving the item they’re very well-made and the feel of them is just amazing. While the knife is a little heavier than the rest of the silverware the spoons and forks are decent weight and the shape of them is very comfortable in your hand and I like the minimalistic modern design that also makes them easy to stay clean (e.i. No tarnish stains in cracks etc) The only possible negative thing I have to say is that the large spoon head is much larger than I thought it would be but it’ll just make eating soup & things easier so I still like that feature it was just a surprise.

I purchased this set right before Thanksgiving that I was hosting. I received a lot of compliments. This flatware is light but sturdy. If you do not dry properly it will leave water stains that can easily be wiped off. The handles are smaller than usual, so you have to be careful using a dishwasher. I, personally, had no problem washing in the dishwasher my first use. The serving utensils are smaller than I wanted, but they will be put to use. I am very satisfied with my purchase!

There are some lengthwise scratches that came with them out of the box. For the price point I the initial impression is great. Hope they won’t rust at this price point but the little scratches could be a challenge for that, cross your fingers.

What dishwasher detergent do you recommend? The care card says to avoid chloride or high lemon content detergent. Thank you!

We strongly recommend hand washing whenever possible to preserve your flatware. However, regular dishwasher detergents, like Cascade Complete and Finish are fine to use. We don't recommend any of the more aggressive versions of these cleaners. We also suggest using your dishwasher's dry cycle and/or removing the flatware and drying immediately after the wash to prevent rust or other corrosion.
