Rated 3 out of 5 by CindyCO from Lovely to look at, functionally challenging We were specifically looking for an insulated french press and didn't see one in our usual brand so tried this one. Right out of the box my husband complained about how fiddly the small bits of the plunger mechanism were. The bigger issue is the very, very slim pour spout. One has to pour very, very slowly to keep from making a mess. Literally the coffee can be no more than a trickle or it runs down the sides. I wonder if that design was intentional to help keep the coffee hot, although turning the plunger with the slits away from the spout should accomplish the same thing. The first time I used it, I had to wonder if anyone actually tested a prototype.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Hunter from Its broken. Literally was going to press my coffee in the morning and I noticed that the bottom was loose, so I pulled it up and was going to fix it. However, as I pulled it off, the whole bottom piece fell off. Now I thought that this would be an easy fix because all I had to do was screw it back on, but that is not the case. This was so poorly designed because it is literally I'm possible for me to you any kind of strength I have to shove the too short of a screw back into the piece. I am honestly so irritated because all I want is coffee and I cannot do anything about it because of how hard they made this thing to reassemble. Up until this point, I loved the product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by William C from Poor spout design I very highly doubt that this issue is specific to the item that I received. The spout is designed to be too small to pour from, so every time you use the french press, coffee runs down the side of it and spills all over the cup as well. You have to pour it over the sink because at least 4-5oz of coffee are wasted by running down the side of the french press. This is completely unacceptable for a $50 french press. I've had $20 ones in the past that I've had no issues with.

I like that the handle is incorporated rather than in a holder, the double wall allows you to touch the outside of the press after pouring in the boiling water. The mechanism for the press is perfect and does not allow grounds to pass thru at all making the coffee so smooth and easy to drink. I would like to get another one, at some point because I also use the carafe, without the press, as a juice carafe. It looks so pretty with fresh squeezed OJ, iced tomato, or a green leafy juice straight from the juicer. Love them so much for that but really awesome coffee press!

I can make a hot cup of coffee in this press or make a cold brew, either way I get an exceptional cup of coffee every time. With the double walled glass, the coffee can stay hot and cold while it’s safe to hold the glass on the exterior. If you don’t want to use it as a french press, you can always use the carafe for juices, so it’s a multifunctional piece. The only downside to this piece is that sometimes my coffee spills down the side of the carafe as I try to pour out my coffee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PHLY from Elegant French press keeps coffee hot and tasty One thing I don’t like about French presses is that they frequently don’t keep the coffee hot. This issue is addressed by double-wall types, but I’ve never liked their appearance. This double-wall glass version is both one of the best looking presses I’ve seen and also quite functional. The one downside that’s apparent is that, unlike most presses that have a glass center in a non-glass base, if the glass on this one breaks the whole press is lost. And at the price point, it’s a little expensive. But if it’s in your budget, I strongly recommend this press.

It is poorly designed, leading to a colossal mess every morning -- the last thing I want to deal with at 6AM. Also, account for 20% of your coffee lost across your floors and countertops. Couldn't agree more with CindyCO. Wondering if anyone actually tested a prototype. Pouring coffee out of your french press should be a core feature that must be met. I would never serve guests with this product. What an embarrassment! Did not expect to get beauty over form from this German manufacturer. I want to be a Zwilling fan, but am now reconsidering. Surprisingly, the Sorrento Plus line has left me disappointed. Prior we had not one or two, but several Sorrento Plus coffee mugs break on us (internal lining where the cup and handle meet). Have been trying to contact customer service for 6 months now, across two of their email aliases, in hopes of the service changing my mind before resorting to a poor review. Radio silence. As someone who works in Product Management, I get it. Things break. Customers have weird use cases. I'm understanding. Customer service really could have kept me a believer. Now I'm giving up on this brand for my glassware needs. Taking my coffee/cupware business to Fellow. I will say though, the Zwilling products I've purchased from Germany, particularly the flatware, has been exceptional. This review is only pertaining to their glass products.
