INGREDIENTS

  • 2 apples
  • 1 untreated orange
  • 1 untreated blood orange
  • 5 cm ginger
  • 2 sprigs rosemary
  • 100 g dried cranberries
  • 3 cinnamon sticks
  • 10 cloves
  • 3 star anises
  • 2 tsp pink peppercorns
  • 3 l apple cider

HOW TO MAKE IT

  1. Peel, quarter and core the apples, then cut the flesh into wedges. Wash the orange and blood orange in hot water, dry and cut into slices. Peel the ginger if necessary and cut into thin slices. Wash the rosemary, shake dry and cut into small pieces.
  2. Put the apples, oranges, ginger, rosemary, cranberries and spices in a 5.5 qt STAUB cocotte. Place the insulating ring on the STAUB Precision Induction Multi Cooker and place the cocotte inside.
  3. Activate the program “Keep warm” and 2 hours and heat the mulled cider.
  4. When the mulled cider is hot and well-flavored, pour it into glasses or mugs and serve.

Tip

To further enhance the flavor of the mulled cider, add a shot of rum, brandy, bourbon or Scotch to the glass or mugs before pouring in the hot apple mulled wine.
