Responsibility for employees

Our employees are the essence of ZWILLING. They are the ones who make ZWILLING a better place every day. Just as they are committed to us, we are committed to them. Our employees’ overall satisfaction, health, training, and participation are more than just our top priority. It is a matter close to our hearts.

The importance of an inclusive and respectful working environment in a family-oriented company is particularly apparent in uncertain times.

The world of work is undergoing radical change, and ZWILLING is no exception.

As a responsible employer, we make targeted investments in recruiting, human resources development, and our employees' training and professional education. We create the ability for co-working and remote working, enabling flexible working hours. We promote diverse teams with various skills, perspectives, and expertise. We take responsibility for creating a safe working environment at all our sites worldwide and are committed to our employees’ mental and physical health.

Focus on our employees

Every voice counts

Our employees are crucial in transforming ZWILLING through their commitment, motivation, thoughts, and actions. We actively involve our staff in the group’s development by establishing a lively dialogue and feedback process. This initiative is reflected in the global rollout of the Peakon survey platform.

From remote working to career opportunities and remuneration models to long-term corporate strategy, this tool allows employees to express their opinions, ideas, and concerns promptly and regularly. This gives us an authentic picture of the mood within the company, which we can use to create specific action plans.

Our main priority: health and safety

Our employees’ health and safety in the workplace are important to us. We conduct regular safety training to help prevent workplace accidents, excessive physical and psychological stress, and work-related illnesses. During the coronavirus pandemic, we focused on protecting our employees worldwide from the virus.

Focus on leadership

In 2021, we launched an intensive discussion process about our values with the ‘We are family’ employee campaign and developed new leadership principles based on the key takeaways.

With our new Leadership Principles, we are committed to a management style based on trust, entrepreneurial spirit, customer focus, teamwork, and a willingness to change. We aim to embed these principles at all our sites and bring them to life.

Employee development and training

We are focused on our employees’ training and professional development. In addition to continuous on-the-job training, we also provide in-house training sessions, coaching programs, and seminars given by external providers. Digital learning formats are playing an increasingly important role alongside traditional classroom training. We plan to establish a digital learning and training platform at all our sites worldwide.

Equality starts at the top

We are committed to continuously increasing the number of women in the company, particularly in leadership positions. In 2022, 41 percent of managers across the group were women. Ensuring equal pay for equal work or work of equal value is our core principle.

Equal participation of all employees requires a working environment that allows staff to align their personal and professional goals. The right to remote work and flexible working time models are stipulated in a works agreement at ZWILLING. The ZWILLING site in Solingen also has an integrative company daycare center.

Health promotion – stay active!

We offer a variety of health-promoting initiatives at our sites. These include preventative medical check-ups, eye tests, first aid courses, and vaccinations. Additionally, we have established a holistic occupational health management program at our Solingen site that focuses on movement, nutrition, stress management, and addiction prevention. We have developed special programs for each area, ranging from nutritional advice to cooking, yoga, and online courses on quitting smoking.
