When I put kettle on, it just keep boiling for long time, once water boiling it should stop but it keep boiling and beep again as well.

I bought this kettle 1.5 weeks ago and it now won’t turn on. I’ve wiped with lint free cloth on bottom of kettle, base unit top and bottom but nothing. Sometimes it will beep once then turn off. What troubleshooting can I do before returning for refund

Can the temperature settings be switched to Celsius degrees? We don’t use Fahrenheits in Canada (and in a lot of countries in the world!) Thank you for your answer.
