Ingredients
- Apple mixture
- 5 apples
- 50 g (1/3 cup) currants or raisins
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 8 g (1 tbsp) bourbon vanilla sugar
- ½ tsp cinnamon powder
Crumble
- 100 g (1/2 cup) cold butter
- 50 g (1 ¾ oz) soft marzipan paste
- 100 g (1/2 cup) sugar
- 200 g (1 1/3 cups) wheat flour
- ½ tsp cinnamon powder
Also
- butter for greasing
- icing sugar for dusting, to taste
Preparation
Peel the apples, cut them into quarters and remove the core. Cut the apple quarters in half lengthwise again and cut into equal-sized pieces. Mix with currants or raisins, lemon juice, vanilla sugar and cinnamon and set aside.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C top and bottom heat (160 °C fan). Thinly grease the ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE Gratin Dish with butter.
Knead the butter, marzipan, sugar, flour and cinnamon into even crumbles.
Place the apples in the Gratin Dish and spread the crumbles over them.
Place the Gratin Dish on the rack in the lower third of the oven and bake the crumble for approx. 25-30 minutes. Remove, dust with icing sugar as desired and enjoy while still warm.
Serve with freshly whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
