CARING FOR YOUR VACUUM SYSTEM – THE BEST TIPS FOR EVERY PRODUCT
Cleanliness is one of the most important ingredients for good cooking. It is as much a part of kitchen organization as proper food storage. Only clean and consistently well-maintained food vacuum sealers, food storage containers and vacuum seal bags should be used in your kitchen. This prolongs the useful life of ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE products and helps to keep their vacuum power consistent. Regular maintenance also prevents the build-up of dirt and germs.
CLEANING THE VACUUM PUMP – HOW TO DO IT RIGHT
There are many good reasons to clean your vacuum pump. While it may not seem to have much contact with ingredients and food, as an electrical kitchen appliance, it still welcomes proper, regular cleaning. Not to mention that certain ingredients may come in close contact with the pump.
The pump normally only touches the valve of ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE products, i.e. on the vacuum containers, lunch boxes, vacuum seal bags and the wine sealer. After regular use, we recommend cleaning it as follows:
Wipe the outside of the vacuum pump with a slightly damp cloth and open the cap.
Remove the silicone attachment inside the food vacuum sealer, rinse with warm water and put it back once dry.
Then close the cap and done!
If you want to vacuum seal marinated foods in a bag, you can use our liquid barrier to prevent liquids from entering the pump during suction. Small help, big impact. The liquid barrier holds back the liquid for you, giving you time to switch off the pump before sauces and the like get too close.
Our ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE vacuum seal bags are reusable for sustainable rather than one-off freshness. Therefore, we recommend that you clean your vacuum seal bags well after each use. Here is a step by step guide to how to do it best and what with:
First, pour in some commercial dishwashing liquid and warm water and gently swirl around the bag.
Then clean the bag with a suitable sponge or brush.
Pour out the sudsy water and rinse the bag thoroughly with clear water.
Dry inside and out with a clean cloth.
Then turn the vacuum seal bag inside out, stand it up and simply use it again after letting it dry for a while.
ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE vacuum containers, lunch boxes and CUBE boxes are even easier to clean.
The plastic and glass containers are dishwasher safe.
The flat lids can go in the dishwasher whole, but those with an indicator function must be disassembled beforehand.
The ZWILLING FRESH & SAVE wine sealer can also be easily cleaned in the dishwasher after use.
If you don't have a dishwasher, all containers and the wine sealer can be easily cleaned with warm water and detergent – just like dinnerware and flatware.
