CHRISTMAS NUTS

INGREDIENTS 

  • 100 g unpeeled almonds, optionally cashews, pecans or other nuts
  • 100g white sugar
  • 50 ml water
  • 1/4 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 pack of vanilla sugar 

METHOD

  1. Mix the sugar, vanilla sugar, and cinnamon and pour them into a pot or pan. Pour in the water and bring the whole thing to the boil without stirring. Add the almonds or other nuts and continue to simmer on a high level, stirring constantly, until the water evaporates and the sugar is dry again.
  2. Then turn the temperature down to medium. Continue stirring until the sugar caramelizes and the nuts are shiny. Place the roasted nuts on a baking tray lined with baking paper to cool.
