ZWILLING Tanrei 20 cm Chef's knife
Description
The Chef's knife from the ZWILLING TANREI series is a thoroughly exceptional knife. Japanese craftsmanship from the Japanese knife capital of Seki: With its extra-fine honing using the Honbazuke method, hand-ground by master craftsmen, you can perform the finest rocking-motion cuts with low fatigue and high precision.
Its other features are impressive as well: The TANREI premium chef's knife takes you to a new dimension of hardness and edge retention. 100 layers of our newly developed premium steel and an FC 63 core have been processed in the 20 cm long blade. At 63 HRC, the blade has a degree of hardness rarely achieved by kitchen knives, while still offering good flexibility.
The Japanese premium knife’s design is in no way subservient to its outstanding technical values: The Chef's knife from the ZWILLING TANREI series knows how to inspire with its beautiful, individual damask pattern from the tip down. This inspiring feature continues right through to the handle with a fine micarta scales.

ZWILLING TANREI knife
A new dimension, made possible by our equally new premium steel. ZWILLING developed this steel and used it for the first time in the new TANREI knife series. 100 layers in Damascus design encase the FC 63 core and guarantee the superior hardness and edge retention of all the knives in the series. Japanese knives and ZWILLING become TANREI – a combination with a tradition and a new chapter in the success story.
Chef's knives – multifunctional all-round talents
If you enjoy good cooking, there's no alternative to a good chef's knife. This is why you will find one in the ZWILLING TANREI series. Chef's knives are the ideal, versatile tool for sophisticated cuisine. They are suitable for most foods to be cut, lie nicely in your hand, and they are very robust on top of this.
Original Japanese handicraft
The ZWILLING Tanrei knife series not only sounds Japanese, it really is made in Japan. Japanese handicraft meets German engineering skills in this set. The result is the six-piece knife set comprising ultra-hard blades with hand-ground Honbazuke honing.
Chef's knives with a damask pattern – must-have or not?
101 layers of premium steel and an incredible hardness of 63 HRC. In addition to these values, the TANREI chef's knife also has an extraordinary damask blade pattern. A must-have? Although good cutting is still possible without these knives, if you value impressive looks on top of good inner values, you're on the right track here.
