Cleaning your blender – the right way to do it

We'll teach you how to clean your blender properly, which areas are most important not to miss, and which household tools and items work best.

Your blender – lots of treats, easy to clean

Pesto, shakes, and smoothies taste delicious but leave so many traces on your kitchen appliance. As a result, you're left with a mix of fruit, vegetable, and drink residue in your blender. Like all kitchen appliances, cleaning it carefully will extend the life of your blender.

Quick blender cleaning, made easy

See for yourself when your ZWILLING ENFINIGY blender is in use: the blender jar, the lid, and the original ZWILLING blades come in heavy contact with the ingredients. Therefore, they require special attention and should be cleaned after each use. If necessary, you can clean the blender base with a fat-soluble detergent and a damp cloth.

Basic cleaning – Step by step:

  1. Once you have removed your blender jar, soak it in lukewarm water. If you clean your blender immediately after use, this will usually be enough to remove all food residue from the blender jar completely.
  2. Since the blender blades are also in the jar/attached to the jar, they are cleaned at the same time.
  3. Remember to wash the lid: It's not only part of the ZWILLING ENFINIGY blender safety program (the blender doesn't operate without the lid on it), but it's also considered an effective splash guard when blending. While the lid can get quite dirty, it is easily cleaned with a quick hot water rinse.

Did you know?

The ZWILLING ENFINIGY products Power Blender and Personal Blender have their own cleaning program. Simply add 2 cups of lukewarm water and a drop of detergent to the jar, put on the lid, and start the cleaning program. The self-cleaning process is initiated at the touch of a button and works at different speed intervals.

Cleaning the blender of heavy and specific stains

When it comes to cleaning the blender after use – so far, so good. But what about stubborn stains, discoloration, and limescale? You can get rid of all of it with simple household remedies.

Remove discoloration with cooking oil: Pumpkin, beets, or carrots – these are delicious and healthy food items, but they can also discolor your blender. However, there's no reason to be afraid to use these vitamin powerhouses in your next smoothie or shake. You can clean your blender of food residue by putting a bit of cooking oil on a cloth and wiping the blender jar with it.

Clean the blender with a brush: If you want to clean the blades in your blender, be careful: Original ZWILLING cross blades with piranha teeth are at work in the ZWILLING ENFINIGY blenders. To protect your fingers, we recommend using a small brush to apply dishwashing soap to the blades and rinse them with water.

Remove limescale with the original ZWILLING descaler: Limescale is not uncommon for a kitchen – utensils, glasses, and kettles also magically attract lime deposits. However, cleaning limescale in your blender is no problem if you have the ZWILLING descaler. It is hard on limescale deposits but gentle on your appliance. Click here to go directly to the product.

Cleaning blender in the dishwasher – better not!

As you can see: no word about cleaning blenders using dishwashers. Vinegar, baking soda, and dishwashing soap – there are plenty of effective and eco-friendly home remedies that you can use to clean your blender, even on the toughest spots!

If you consistently rinse your blender with warm water directly after use, this should be enough for the usual food residue. You don't need a dishwasher here at all – actually, quite the opposite! The high-quality ball bearings in the blender jars are happy if they don't encounter aggressive dishwashers.
